Accolades
For more than thirty years, critics and publications recognize Soos Creek wines as top-tier bottles among the best produced in our region, and without a steep price tag to match. Wine Enthusiast, The Wine Advocate, The Wine Spectator, and Steve Tanzer, and respected voices like Sean Sullivan, Owen Bargreen, and Paul Gregutt regularly highlight the fruits of our labor. We are honored to list a deep selection of these accolades below.

2018 Soos Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain Reserve |
4/12/2024 - BLUEHORSESHOE LIKES THIS WINE: 97 points Wow, this wine is spectacular in all aspects. Pop and pour with no decant. Fragrant nose with fruit, spice and fresh cut stone. The mouthfeel is silky and rich with beautiful balance and texture. No sense of heaviness on the palate. The finish is long and rich, yet elegant. I paid $35 for this wine as a future, but would put it up against $100 plus bottles without hesitation. Revisiting this after vacuuvinning for two days. Still fresh and vibrant, portending a long life ahead. However, it is exceptional in its youth. For those of you familiar with Soos Creek wines, this is the best I've had from them. Second best was the 2008 Champoux Vineyard cabernet, followed closely by the 2017 Ciel Du Cheval. |

6/5/2022 - BLUEHORSESHOE LIKES THIS WINE: 95 points Oh my! This is wonderful. Perfectly balanced. Silky tannins, rich fruit and a long finish. First of six...wish I had ordered a case! |
2009 Soos Creek Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Red Bordeaux Blend |
6/27/2016 - BLUEHORSESHOE LIKES THIS WINE: 95 points This wine is spectacular. I have enjoyed a bottle over the past 4 days and am finishing the last glass as I type this note. It is perfectly balanced with beautiful fruit and spice. The tannins are silky and the finish is long. This wine rocks and blows away many wines that are three or four times the price. Great job Dave! |
2009 Soos Creek Champoux Vineyard Horse Heaven Hills Red Bordeaux Blend |
11/28/2013 - DONTIME WROTE: 95 points Seriously good juice at this price point. Rich, complex and smooth as a baby's butt. Multiple flavors cascade across the palate reaching a crescendo that lasts for 62.4 seconds. Just amazing. |
2012 Soos Creek Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Red Bordeaux Blend |
11/19/2022 - ISAACJAMESBAKER WROTE: 95 points The nose has this gorgeous black and blue fruit, mixed with mint, eucalyptus, chewing tobacco, violets, tar, just waves of pure aromas. Smooth, vibrant, lively on the palate, this has aged wonderfully with so long to go, but I really like where it is at now, with this expressive feel, plenty of juicy fruit, and the aged, savory tones are just coming out. Love the anise, eucalyptus and oregano-esque tones on the finish. My wine of the night. |

9/13/2022- GOODVITIS.COM LIKES THIS WINE: 95 points I couldn't be happier to have been so wrong with my last tasting note. Drank this with friends, so no formal notes, but it'll stick in my memory for a long time. In a line up with well-aged No Girls, Gramercy, and Domaine Serene, this was the wine of the night. The tannins are just so on-point right now and integrated perfectly with the acid and alcohol. The fruit (cherry, plum, raspberry) was sweet and supple, and the cassis and kirsch put it over the top. This is as good a red wine as I've had from Washington State, including top houses like Delille, Leonetti, and Quilceda Creek. |

4/8/2024-APARRITZ LIKES THIS WINE: 95 points Impossibly fresh at 10 years old. Dynamic and zippy with a crunchy dark fruit verve that jumped out of the glass. A remarkable weeknight surprise. |
2018 Soos Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain Reserve |
5/26/2023 - BLUEHORSESHOE LIKES THIS WINE: 94 points Dave Larsen must be a magician. It is mind bending to think that I was able to buy this for $35 a bottle as a future. This red mountain beauty can hang with most $100 Napa Cabs. Milk chocolate, black cherry, blackberry, graphite and fresh cut herbs on the nose and palate. Great on day 1, but even better on day 4. |
2005 Soos Creek Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Red Bordeaux Blend |
7/24/2011 - TIMBUK2 WROTE: 94 points Tanzer 2005 WA Cabernets and Blends (Palace Ballroom, Seattle, WA): Tanzer 2005 WA CABS - flight 2/4 with 05 Grand Reve and Delille Chaleur. This was drinking wonderfully well. Probably the most fruit of any wine of the evening, just burstingly open and inviting. Softer tannins than most so probably best enjoyed young, now, in fact. Lovely wine. WOTF for sure. |
2019 Soos Creek Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Red Bordeaux Blend |
8/12/2023 - DALE M WROTE: 94 points Decanted 3hrs. I have been wanting to try a Soos Creek CdC for quite some time, and it appears that I certainly picked the right vintage. Straight to the point - this was just terrific. The sweetness of fruit, dark blackberries with just a touch of huckleberry was so fresh and clean. Not to mention delicious. An exemplary specimen of Ciel De Cheval (One of my top 3 WA vineyards) that reveals a wonderful a one two punch of both floral rose like aromas and flavors with a savory aspect, like a grilled steak over mesquite coals. The oak is perfect, just enough to add some texture and body, but stays clear of getting in the way of this beautiful reds true intentions. According to Paul Gregutt, this includes vines from the original planting in 1982. And is the last vintage for CdC say it ain’t so! Oh at $37.50 a silly price of a wine of this caliber. |
2017 Soos Creek Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Red Bordeaux Blend |
6/3/2024 - BLUEHORSESHOE LIKES THIS WINE: 94 points Sad to say this is my last bottle of this wine. Truly memorable. Impeccably balanced with red fruits, slate, herbs de Provence. This is a very clean wine with nice acidity and a smooth finish. Exceptionally made. |
2009 Soos Creek Champoux Vineyard Horse Heaven Hills Red Bordeaux Blend |
11/17/2014 - MOTZ WROTE: 94 points Sadly, my last bottle of this hedonistic elixir. It has evolved beautifully over the last three years. The captivating bouquet continues to show a fresh Northwest forest berry medley, with strong floral accents, peppers, spice, and |
