Greetings from Soos Creek Wine Cellars! We hope your summer was a great one!
We have long wondered when we would know the right time to exit the wine business. It has been a struggle between our hearts (there is so much to like about being in the wine business), our bodies (doing the physical labor), and our minds (the arbiter between our hearts and bodies). Our bodies ultimately decided for us. Despite the great support from our volunteers and despite reducing production, the demands of the physical labor are edging us out of the game. It has been a fantastic ride that we enjoyed sharing with you, but nothing lasts forever. Fortunately, we have a wealth of wines from 2023 and, next year, from 2024 that we are proud to offer you.
The Phinny Hill Vineyard Cab is a new wine, sourced from across the street from the Champoux Vineyard. Despite the proximity, it has its own distinct identity. The defining attribute of this 100% Cabernet beauty is the purity of the delicious black currant flavors,
Please take a look at our previous newsletter for information on the Discovery Vineyard Commander Comet Syrah wine. This 100% Syrah is simply our favorite of all the Syrahs we have ever produced.
From the 2023 vintage, we also offer two earlier-drinking Bordeaux Blends - Soleil & Sazon, a long-lived cellar treasure, Southwind Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and the NV Pugilist at Rest - a blend of Cabernet and Petit Verdot, all with 90+ points. The wine writers continue to acknowledge the outstanding quality-to-price ratio of our wines. In his recent reviews of our wines, Dr. Owen Bargreen stated, "If you want a great bottle of wine for the price, read this article. Soos Creek is a Washington outpost that is built on producing quality wines exuding both class and value."
This is the time of year to take advantage of our progressive case discount, which is available until September 30th. The normal 10% case discount climbs to 15% and 20% for orders of 24 and 36 bottles, respectively. Additionally, a 15% year-round discount is available for our Melange Sampler.
